Ready for Pushback V.I.P. Club
First there was the AETI 747-200. This package was released for FS2000 and enjoyed by many. When we saw the interest in the 747-200 it paved the way to “Ready for Pushback” Version 1 for FS2002.
The “Ready for Pushback” Version 1, 747-200 package was more sophisticated and offered a much higher level of realism. It wasn’t long until real world 747-200 pilots were ordering “Ready for Pushback” and writing us to say how much they enjoyed it. Along with the praise came a few suggestions and also Microsoft’s new FS2004 was just a few short months away.
We went back to work on “Ready for Pushback” Version 2 for FS2004 and released it nearly 2 years ago. This version has been successful far beyond our dreams to say the least. We have been contacted by the airline industry to do a special version for ground classroom familiarization training and other uses. The airline industry has very special needs that are far from what a flight simmer has in mind. They have no use for a virtual cockpit and feel it is stupid and even seeing an outside view of the aircraft is a very low priority item. Systems and working gauges are high priority and very important.
For many months now we have and still are working very closely with the courseware developer and ground instructor of a major airline flying the Boeing 747-200. With their help we have been developing a version of” Ready for Pushback” for their use for several months. The process is slow, detailed and precise and may take another 2 years to fully complete.
After you have read this you many will be wondering if this or a similar version will be made available to flight simmers? There is no definite answer to this question but we always leave the door open. It would be a version that would use many of the systems being developed but with many changes to other areas. Knowing that this possibility exists, a brand new aircraft has been in the works for several months and is still a long way from completion.
Just a couple of things to mention is our new smooth ADI, HSI, VOR RMI and ADF gauges with a quality that is seldom seen. We have had this technique since April 2005.
So why am I telling you this? First of all, over the next few days, I will be releasing a very limited number of screen shots and a video or two showing the smoothness employed in some new gauges.
Following that, I will want a show of hands from those that feel they would be interested in the product. We are even considering starting a “Ready for Pushback” V.I.P. Club. Again, starting the club would depend on interest levels.
How would the club work?
For a small annual fee, you would receive a copy of work in progress with monthly updates. We would have a special section of the forum that would only be available to club members. You would be required to own Ready for Pushback Version 2 without any exceptions. Most things that are new will have already been tested and approved by the airline involved before you would get your monthly update.
Documentation would be skimpy but some will be available as it is produced.
Is there an interest in this or should we just keep the details under tight wraps for now?panelsho,Feb 11 2006, 04:12 PM pisze: Hopefully you have read the post regarding the Ready for Pushback VIP Club and have made a decision as to whether or not you would be interested in becoming involved.
New Radios
And a work in progress TCAS
And more new stuff . . . .
The fee we have in mind is $12.00 per year
Pricing may depend on how many would be willing to get involved.
When we see how many would be interested in getting involved we can then make decision as to progressing and implementing this new concept. Those that do get involved will receive a basic package by download and monthly updates. The package you will download is fully usable and far advanced over the RFP V2.
Some of things you will find in the work-in-progress package are:
- New and accurate VHF NAV Radio
- New and accurate COMM Radios
- New and accurate ADF Radio
- New and accurate 3 channel MCP.
- Reworked FFRATS with better stability
- All New climb modes in the MCP
- All new ADI that is using the new smoothing techniques and has a feature to adust the sensitivity to the user preferences.
- All New ASI that is 100% like the real one
- All New Altimeter that works like the real one
- All New Analog Radio Altimere that works like the real one.
- TCAS (incomplete but usable)
- Triple Litton LTN-28 (incomplete but usable)
- Brake Pressure gauge.
- Dual Automatic Direction Finder
- Control Position Indicator
- All New VOR/RMI
- . . . and much more . . .
There is a new forum area setup that will require a password to access and this password will be supplied to all members when their membership is confirmed.
